Most popularized  17 4 PH spears when hardened correctly  are supposed to be 52 Rockwell C which sets it at around 1700 MPAin tensile. When actually tested many are not above 48 C measuring around 1450 to 1500 MPA.

Rob Allen carbon spring steel is 50 to 52 Rockwell C and 2000 to 2100 MPA, no spear is tougher or more resistant to bending.
